Letters From Home is the story of a United States Marine Corps Mom's personal struggles, accomplishments and growth during her only child's journey through Marine Corps Boot Camp. The emotional journey and sleepless nights of not only having a child in the military amidst the ensuing world unrest after the tragic events of 911, but the releasing of illusionary control of her only son leaving home and growing up in a time span she could not fathom.
The letters written to her son in boot camp lead into her descriptions of the day to day events going on 'back home' and the realizations of not only her evolving self, but of those around her, and her discovery of the many things that should never be said to a parent going through the experience, and those things that should.
Finally, it is about the euphoric graduation of not only her son but herself, as she leaves behind one phase of her life and moves into the next.
