Business Participation Hunt for Hootbert

I’m still finalizing some of the details, but after last year’s success I wanted to get the ball rolling early. Last year was our biggest year yet, and the end party was an absolute hit. Every year we see more participants, more community excitement, and more families exploring local businesses around Grande Prairie. I’m already having customers asking when Hootbert is coming back!

One of my favorite parts of the event every year is hearing participants talk about the businesses they discovered for the first time:
“We have a karaoke place?!”
“Did you know they do physio on dogs?”
“We parked and went to every place in one day!”

Families tell me their favorite stops and why they loved them, and it’s become such a fun way to encourage people to explore and support local businesses.

 Participation Includes:
• Your business listed in the official Hunt for Hootbert passport
• A mini Hootbert cutout and poster to display as an Official Hootbert Stop
• Increased foot traffic from families all month long
• Opportunity to donate a prize for the month-end party and prize draws
• Inclusion in group promotional social media posts
• Promotion as part of a Grande Prairie-wide community event

We’ll also once again be accepting prize donations for the event's end party prize tables and draws. Prize donations are absolutely not required, but they do help increase excitement and participation throughout the event. As a thank you, every donated prize will receive its own social media spotlight post on our pages.

For businesses without a storefront or physical stop location, the option to be a Prize Sponsor is a great way to still be involved in the event and get your business in front of participating families.

A quick note for this year: we won’t be moving Giant Hootbert around town, as it didn’t quite get the engagement we hoped for. However, if you’d like to host the Giant Hootbert standee at your business for a few days, feel free to reach out. Businesses hosting would be responsible for picking him up and returning him within a couple of days. First come, first served.
